“I think that shifting allegiances is a theme that runs rife in the show and in the books. criston’s allegiances are to no one but himself, Which I think is interesting. He's one of the only characters who has no allegiance to anyone… there are videos of the way the Dornish are spoken about, with disdain, a lot of hatred, and a lack of respect for the way they live their lives. I actually think it echoes modern day racism in a lot of ways.”

Fabien Joseph Besson-Frankel is an Anglo-French actor who was born on the 6th of April, 1994 in London, England. He is the son of the late Anglo-Jewish actor, Mark Frankel, and French advertising account executive Caroline Besson. Mark Frankel was a prominent leading man in his brief career, but tragedy struck when he was killed in a car accident in 1996 at the age of 34, when Fabien was only two years old. Fabien attended Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in 2013 and is a 2017 graduate of London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art with a BA (Hons) Professional Acting course (2014-2017). He is best known for his role as Dominique Renelleau in the British crime drama The Serpent (2021), developed by Mammoth Screen and commissioned by the BBC.

Frankel's first on-screen role was in the 2019 film Last Christmas, in which he played a romantic interest of the main character played by Emilia Clarke. The romantic comedy was directed by Paul Feig and written by Bryony Kimmings and acclaimed actress Emma Thompson, who co-wrote the story with her husband, Greg Wise. In 2019, he then filmed ABC’s planned NYPD Blue sequel series as Theo Sipowicz, the son of popular character Andy Sipowicz, played by Dennis Franz for all twelve seasons. In May of 2019, it was reported that the pilot would be retooled for a potential midseason pickup, however, in 2020 it was reported that the series was no longer in active development at ABC. In 2021, Frankel appeared in four out of eight episodes of the BBC miniseries The Serpent, opposite Tahar Rahim and Jenna Coleman. On the 15th of April 2021, it was announced that he will be playing Ser Criston Cole in HBO’s House of the Dragon, a prequel spinoff to the hit fantasy series Game of Thrones, which is set to premiere in August of 2022. Also in 2022, Frankel will star in the Jamie Adams comedy film Venice at Dawn, based on the classic British stage farce.
