Emily Joanna Carey is an English actress and model who was born on the 30th of April, 2003 in London, England. She is best known for portraying the roles of Grace Beauchamp in BBC One's medical drama series Casualty (2014–2017, 2021) and Mika Cavanaugh in Netflix's teen thriller Get Even (2020). As well as her roles in Casualty and Get Even, Carey also played the young Diana Prince, portrayed by Gal Gadot as an adult, in the Warner Bros. blockbuster film Wonder Woman (2017). The following year, she then appeared as a younger version of Alicia Vikander’s Lara Croft in the Tomb Raider reboot film, released in March of 2018.

In 2014, before starting on BBC One’s Casualty, Carey first appeared in the music video for Idina Menzel and Michael Bublé's cover of "Baby, It's Cold Outside," playing a younger version of Idina Menzel. Earlier works include the character of Mary Conan Doyle in the 2016 FOX/ITV drama series Houdini and Doyle, as well as West End Theatre roles in Shrek The Musical at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, and the Olivier Award-nominated The Sound of Music at Regent's Park Open Air Theatre. In 2016, Carey was then listed in a Huffington Post article as one of the top five child stars of the year. Following this, in 2017 and 2018, she appeared as younger versions of Diana Prince and Lara Croft in the popular franchise films Wonder Woman and Tomb Raider. In 2019, after making an appearance as Bea on the Idris Elba-led Netflix comedy Turn Up Charlie, Carey joined the cast of Netflix’s teen thriller series Get Even as the character of Mika Cavanaugh. The series was adapted by Holly Phillips from the book series Don't Get Mad by Gretchen McNeil, and focuses on a group of schoolgirls who form a group to expose bullies at their school. She then starred in the title role of the 2020 fantasy adventure film Anastasia: Once Upon a Time, loosely based on the legend of Grand Duchess Anastasia Nikolaevna of Russia. In 2021, after reprising her role as Grace Beauchamp in seven episodes of the medical drama Casualty, it was announced that Carey will be portraying the role of a young Alicent Hightower in HBO’s House of the Dragon, a prequel spinoff of the hit fantasy series Game of Thrones, set to premiere in August of 2022. Also in 2022, she starred as the teenage version of Wendy Darling in fantasy drama film The Lost Girls, based on the 2003 Peter Pan-inspired novel of the same name by Laurie Fox.
